Hello,
I lived in LA many years ago... Have you try craigslist or ustsu.com? Or some local post outside of major grocery stores..

It depends on where do you go to work... Traffic in LA is terrible, it would be great if you only need to take local or live in a neighborhood that's against traffic..

What do you need? I have been living here for a couple years. Have you tried craigslist.org ?
