英國教師工會表決通過 學校義務教育應納入同性伴侶關係

英國最大的教師工會（NUT）最近要求政府，應該把同性伴侶關係納為學校教育的必教內容。

工會在4/5投票通過，將在英國五月大選之後，責成新政府積極處理校園內的恐同、恐雙和恐跨議題，希望幫助創造有利學生彼此理解的正向氣氛。

表決通過的條文中寫道：「教師工會相信學校裡的學生和老師不應該受到歧視，要求未來的政府必須積極處理校園裡的恐同、恐雙和恐跨議題，以在校園中建立符合二十一世紀性向及性別議題的、彼此瞭解的正向氣氛，讓學生能有正面的受教經驗。」

NUT同時也發表了一份了調查，其中僅有18%的老師認為學校的的教職員們持續積極的處理恐同議題，同時也只有10%的老師表示，他們敢向學生揭露自己的性傾向。

The biggest union of teachers in the UK has called on the government to introduce mandatory same-sex relationships education in schools. 

Members of the National Union of Teachers (NUT) voted yesterday (5 April)  to pass a resolution that will call on the government following May's general election to urge schools to 'tackle homophobia, biphobia and transphobia' in an effort to help 'create a positive climate of understanding' among students. 

'Conference believes that schools should be places that allow students and staff to be free from homophobia, biphobia and transphobia, to enjoy a positive educational experience,' reads the resolution. 

'Conference demands that a future government must tackle the embedded homophobia, biphobia and transphobia that exists in schools and create a positive climate of understanding about sexuality and gender fit for the twenty first century.'

'This must include a commitment to make it easier to discuss ideas about sexuality and gender so that students and teachers are more confident to identify as LGBTI and work in schools without fear of prejudice.'

Meanwhile, in a NUT poll published alongside the resolution, it was found that only 18% of teachers believe that staff at their school 'consistently challenged' homophobia, while only 10% said they felt confident in disclosing their sexuality to their students.
